I am an abstract expressionist that draws inspiration from life and nature.
Organic and geometric shapes play a large role in my compositions. My pieces are influenced by Willem De Kooning, Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko to mention a few.
I begin my process with layers of paint applied with pallet knives, brushes and small ink rollers. I let the image emerge and take the direction it wants.
I think of it as a symphony developing in front of me, with the highs and lows of the notes being played. I also enjoy wrapping my art work around the deep edges of the canvases I use, so as to give the painting a sense of continuity.
